Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Paychex. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements, conducting month-end close tasks, and performing complex accounting and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and posts journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Independently performs complex accounting and financial analysis, reporting, and account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Reports reconciliation items to appropriate business partners, providing detailed information to ensure timely resolution and accurate transactions, in adherence to Sarbanes Oxley regulations and standards.
  • Assists in implementing and maintaining internal and operational controls, recommending improvements to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations and standards.
  • Represents the department on teams and projects, ensuring department needs are met and actions are in line with departmental goals.
  • Clearly communicates impact to the department.
  • Assists in establishing department procedures and maintains accurate documentation of processes and updates, as needed.
  • Effectively manages and schedules time to meet various internal and external deadlines.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Demonstrates written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Compensation

The starting base pay range for this position is $52,780 - $82,940 annually. This range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
