About the Role

The Senior Cost Accountant is a key member of the finance team at IDEX, responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing cost accounting function. This role requires a proactive and creative problem solver who can lead efficiency improvements and strategic actions. As a strong communicator, you will provide recommendations to Senior Management to drive towards the site's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report, forecast, and analyze the manufacturing cost sections of the Profit and Loss statement and balance sheet, including standard costs, variances to standards, operating direct charges, and inventory.
  • Coordinate cost management functions to ensure accurate, timely product cost and inventory account information for compliance with corporate reporting requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial reports for quarterly and monthly operations and business reviews.
  • Work with planning and operations to cost new products.
  • Support manufacturing operations, including monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing daily manufacturing activities, providing variances and root cause analysis, and assisting with the development and implementation of efficiency metrics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • JDE ERP experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with cost accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions.
  • Self-motivated, focused, and able to identify needs and implement solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
  • Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques.
  • PowerBI experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes.

  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $74,000.00 - $111,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan. Our comprehensive U.S. benefit offerings include health benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings program with company match, PTO, and more.
