About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our team at Blue Origin as a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering effort to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition and validation of the Blue Moon MK1 Lander Lunar Orbit, De-Orbit, Descent, and Landing (DDL), and Surface Phases as part of the Mission Analysis team.
  • Define, analyze, and validate mission activities conducted in these phases, developing the CONOPS, conducting related system-level trades, and tasking/mentoring others engineers conducting related analyses.
  • Interface closely with the vehicle simulation team, Integrated Product Teams, and mission operations, as well as applying MBSE-based mission models, and participate in risk and decision boards to ensure a successful demonstration of Blue Origin's first lunar lander.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in aerospace engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience on space missions, including in late development cycles (post-CDR to launch).
  • Direct experience in systems engineering and basic familiarity with all major subsystems of robotic spacecraft.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Direct experience working on planetary landers and/or vehicles operating in the lunar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in GNC, including running/evaluating vehicle simulations/6DOF and interplanetary trajectory design.
