Spacecraft Systems Engineer III

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a key member of our Space Systems Development team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of space travel and habitation.
Key Responsibilities- Derive and develop Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) requirements, analysis, algorithms, flight software, integration, test, verification, and validation of the Orbital Reef ADCS subsystem.
- Collaborate with other subsystem and spacecraft systems engineers to define GN&C boundaries and interfaces.
- Support the definition, development, and execution of simulations and tools required for verification of functionalities.
- Ensure the GN&C subsystem complies with its requirements.
- Minimum of a B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related field.
- 5 years of design experience focused on development of spacecraft GN&C.
- Demonstrated experience in development, implementation, and testing of GN&C algorithms on aerospace vehicles.
- Experience developing requirements, interfaces, trades, and analyses for GN&C applications.
- Proven experience in modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with flight management, guidance, control, navigation, and astrodynamics fundamentals.
- Experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow.
- M.S. or PhD in aerospace engineering or related technical field.
- Experience in Rendezvous, Proximity, and Docking (RPO/D) CONOPS, algorithms, trajectories, rendezvous points, safety gates and corridors, and requirements for performing RPOD operations.
- Experience in full lifecycle development of GN&C and/or Autonomy on spacecraft including integrated tests in high-fidelity environments.
- Experience designing, evaluating, and simulating state machines.
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
