Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Radiation Effects Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Space Systems organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of our spacecraft systems by providing technical leadership and expertise in radiation effects analysis and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in radiation effects analysis and mitigation for spacecraft systems
  • Develop and implement radiation effects mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop radiation-hardened electronics and systems
  • Conduct radiation effects testing and analysis to validate system performance and reliability
  • Develop and maintain radiation effects models and tools to support system design and testing
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians on radiation effects-related issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in radiation effects research and technology
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in radiation effects analysis and mitigation for spacecraft systems
  • Strong knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and materials
  • Experience with radiation effects testing and analysis tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field
  • Experience with radiation-hardened electronics and systems design
  • Knowledge of radiation effects on spacecraft materials
  • Experience with radiation effects modeling and simulation tools
  • Fluency in programming languages such as Python, C, and MATLAB
