About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemical Engineer to join our Space Systems Development team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing space systems, with a focus on spacecraft or in-space stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and release engineering artifacts throughout the product lifecycle to enable flawless hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations.
  • Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide expert technical information.
  • Research and analyze designs, specifications, manuals, and other data to determine the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Develop technical solutions and successfully implement development, testing, and analysis to support technology maturation and down-selects.
  • Collaborate with teams from different functions to ensure the seamless integration of ECLSS systems with other spacecraft subsystems.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or environmental engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of technical experience in designing and analyzing space systems, with a focus on spacecraft or in-space stages.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a team or project.
  • Ability to apply judgment, developed through theory and experience, to assess the appropriate level of detail required in an ECLSS System model.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental chemical processes, thermodynamics, and fluid systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, chemical, physics, or related subject area.
  • Experience with aircraft or spacecraft life support/environmental control (ECLSS) technologies and architectures.
  • Experience designing complex electronic systems combining hardware, firmware, and software.
