About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Systems Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our spacecraft power systems team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing battery systems for our launch vehicles and spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop battery systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft, including battery pack assembly, electrical testing, and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery systems into spacecraft and launch vehicles.
  • Develop and implement testing and validation procedures to ensure battery systems meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to ensure successful launch and operation of spacecraft and launch vehicles.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in battery technology and apply this knowledge to improve our systems.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in battery systems engineering, spacecraft power systems, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, battery technology, and spacecraft systems.
  • Experience with design and development of battery systems, including battery pack assembly, electrical testing, and qualification.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with spacecraft power systems, including power distribution, energy storage, and power conversion.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as NASA and FAA requirements.
  • Experience with testing and validation procedures, including electrical testing and qualification.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, including propulsion, thermal, and communication systems.
