Overview
As an Airport Security Specialist, you will provide essential security services to various airlines and organizations, demonstrating outstanding customer service and communication abilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of both property and individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor security at the designated gate. You will access the secure area of the jet bridge using your employee ID, standing by the airplane door and vigilantly observing both entrances to prevent unauthorized access. You will also count and scan each cleaner with a security wand, documenting the cleaner count, arrival time of the aircraft, and pushback time on a form.
  2. Ensure security at the ramp for the assigned airline. You will collect baggage carts from the bag room, counting each bag as it is loaded onto the aircraft. It is crucial to verify that no suspicious items are placed on the plane and that all luggage is accounted for. Additionally, you will restrict access to the airplane perimeter to authorized ramp personnel only.
  3. Conduct thorough searches of the assigned flight. You will ensure compliance with all regulations and safety protocols, identifying and reporting any unauthorized items found within the aircraft to your supervisor.
  4. Prevent losses and damages by promptly reporting any irregularities.

Supervisory Role
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This role operates within an airport setting, which may include both office and outdoor conditions. Some tasks may expose you to extreme temperatures (both high and low) in areas such as the ramp and bag room.

Physical Requirements
This position is highly active, requiring constant standing or walking (potentially for an entire shift) across various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet). You may need to bend, twist, and lift or move items weighing up to 70 pounds or more.

Position Type and Work Schedule
This is a full-time or part-time role with varying days and hours of work from Monday to Sunday, including different shifts to accommodate 24/7 customer service.

Travel Requirements
No travel is anticipated for this position.

Education and Experience Requirements
  1. High school diploma or GED.
Additional Qualifications
  1. Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
  2. Successful completion of a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test is required.
  3. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.
  4. Ability to maintain positive relationships with both colleagues and clients.
  5. Effective interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and the public.
  6. Capability to comprehend and follow all operational and airport procedures and instructions.
  7. Aptitude for handling the pressures of working with a high volume of the general public, varying from constant to occasional based on assignment.
Security Clearance
Eligibility for CBP seal and successful completion of a criminal background check to obtain the airport ID is required.
