Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Airport Security Officer to join our team at Southeast Airport Services, Inc. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our airport and its passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening and Security: Conduct thorough security screenings of airport employees and other individuals passing through screening locations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to passengers and airport employees, ensuring a positive and secure experience.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate diverse electronic detection and imaging equipment, including metal detectors, x-ray machines, and other security devices.
  • Patrols and Inspections: Conduct regular patrols of the airport, inspecting areas for potential security threats and taking necessary action to prevent incidents.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional security-related duties as needed to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
Requirements
  • Legally Eligible to Work: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Security License: Must possess a current Florida Class-D Security License.
  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal employment, education, and personal references.
  • Drug Screenings: Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual/random drug screenings.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work and interact with the public, and be available to work shifts throughout the day, afternoon, evening, and overnight as required.
Physical Demands
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand for long periods of time with few breaks.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Mobility: Ability to twist, squat, and bend over without physical limitations.
  • Patrols and Inspections: Ability to perform patrols, including walking long distances and going up and down stairs.
  • Self-Protection: Ability to protect yourself or others in the event of a physical disturbance.
  • Weather Conditions: Must be comfortable with conditions that range from Summer Heat to Winter Conditions.
