Job Overview

Position Summary
The Unarmed Security Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security at airport screening locations. This position involves thorough security checks of airport personnel and other individuals to ensure a secure environment.


Key Responsibilities:


• Identify and prevent the transportation of hazardous items through screening areas.


• Deliver professional and courteous service while ensuring a safe experience for all individuals.


• Operate advanced electronic detection and imaging technologies.


• Conduct metal detection searches, physical inspections, and x-ray machine operations as required.


• Perform additional security-related tasks to safeguard the traveling public.

Qualifications:


• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


• Possession of a valid Florida Class-D Security License is required.


• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is mandatory.


• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.


• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, employment verification, and personal references.


• Must hold a valid state-issued Driver's License or identification card.


• Successful completion of pre-employment, annual, and random drug screenings is required.


• Reliable transportation is necessary.


• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the public.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and overnight as needed.

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to stand for extended periods with minimal breaks.


• Capability to lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.


• Physical agility to twist, squat, and bend without limitations.


• Endurance to patrol extensive areas, including walking long distances and navigating stairs.


• Capacity to ensure personal safety and the safety of others during disturbances.


• Comfort with varying environmental conditions, from heat to cold.


• Open availability without restrictions from other employment commitments.
