Airport Security Officer - MCOReporting to an Operations Manager or Security Supervisor, our Unarmed Security Officers are responsible for the day-to-day security screening of airport employees and individuals passing through designated screening locations.
Job Responsibilities:- Identify potentially dangerous objects and prevent their transportation through screening areas.
- Conduct screenings in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service to all individuals.
- Utilize advanced electronic detection and imaging equipment to ensure the safety of passengers and airport personnel.
- Perform various security procedures including metal detection searches, pat-down searches, operation of X-ray machines, physical property searches, and other identification reviews as required.
- Contribute to a secure environment by performing additional security-related duties as assigned.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid Florida Class-D Security License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Florida state-issued Driver's License or a valid state-issued Identification card.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, employment verification, educational records, and personal references.
- Ability to pass pre-employment, annual, and random drug screenings.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to work assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with the public in a professional manner.
- Flexibility to work various shifts throughout the day, evening, and overnight hours as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods with minimal breaks.
- Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexibility to twist, squat, and bend without physical limitations.
- Ability to perform patrols that involve walking long distances and navigating stairs.
- Physical preparedness to protect oneself or others in the event of a physical altercation.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions, from summer heat to winter temperatures.
