About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our IT Engineering team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about identity and access management, particularly with a focus on self-service capabilities.

In the Senior Identity and Access Engineer position, your primary responsibility will be to oversee our corporate workforce identity management, maintain our identity provider system, and manage access protocols. As the principal architect for our IAM strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our identity and access management framework, fostering innovation, and ensuring scalability in line with our growth trajectory. You will also manage other essential SaaS systems that facilitate communication and productivity within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, and maintain our identity and access management systems, ensuring robust integration of identity provider (IDP), single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Support the implementation of workforce identities and authentication across various IT systems and applications.
  • Document standards, guidelines, and operational procedures for both administrators and end-users.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, business stakeholders, and security teams to ensure that technical solutions align with business objectives and compliance standards.
  • Oversee the administration of core SaaS communication and productivity applications.
  • Act as a mentor and trainer for the IT team, addressing escalated issues and incidents.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and address any identified gaps.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into effective IAM solutions that enhance security and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize existing systems for improved performance and user experience.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Navigate a complex, multi-cloud environment, designing solutions for intricate challenges.
  • Anticipate future needs and design adaptable systems in response to evolving regulatory and business requirements.
  • Balance security measures with user experience, understanding both technical capabilities and human factors.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT, Information Security, and executive leadership, translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Stay informed on IAM trends and technologies, evaluating and implementing new solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Design and implement IAM controls that meet or exceed compliance standards, contributing to the overall risk management strategy.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of advanced IAM experience, including 5+ years of administering IAM using Okta.
  • In-depth knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies (SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, MFA, PAM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of user/identity lifecycle management and automated onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and operational escalations effectively.
  • Security-focused mindset with experience in developing auditable system controls and processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex systems and implement efficient architectures.
  • Strong expertise in regulatory compliance within a corporate environment.
  • Experience leading IAM strategy in organizations preparing for significant regulatory milestones.
