About the team/role
We are expanding our IT Engineering division and seeking a dedicated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment that fosters continuous learning and growth. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a keen focus on identity and access management, particularly in self-service capabilities.
In the Senior Identity and Access Engineer position, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing our corporate workforce identity, managing our identity provider system (Okta), and implementing access management strategies across various SaaS platforms. As the chief architect for our IAM framework, you will play a pivotal role in defining the future of our identity and access management landscape, driving innovation, and ensuring scalability in line with our rapid expansion. You will also assist in the administration of essential SaaS systems for communication and productivity, while collaborating with various teams to support our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, design, and maintain our identity and access management systems, focusing on IDP, SSO, MFA, and PAM.
- Facilitate the implementation of corporate workforce identities and authentication across existing and new IT systems.
- Document standards, guidelines, and operating procedures for both administrators and end-users.
- Collaborate with system engineers, business owners, and security teams to ensure technical solutions align with business and compliance requirements.
- Manage core SaaS communication and productivity applications.
- Provide mentorship and training to the IT team while addressing escalated issues.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and address any identified gaps.
- Work with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into effective IAM solutions.
- Lead initiatives to optimize existing systems for performance and user experience.
- Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Design solutions for complex, multi-cloud environments with diverse applications.
- Anticipate future needs and design adaptable systems in response to changing requirements.
- Balance security measures with user experience, understanding both technical and human factors.
- Act as a liaison between IT, Information Security, and executive leadership, communicating technical concepts in business terms.
- Stay updated on IAM trends and technologies, implementing new solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
- Architect IAM controls that meet and exceed compliance standards, contributing to the overall risk management strategy.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of advanced IAM experience, with at least 5 years focused on Okta administration.
- In-depth knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies, including SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, MFA, and PAM.
- Strong understanding of user lifecycle management and automated onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while effectively addressing operational challenges.
- Security-focused mindset with experience in developing auditable system controls and processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and improvement.
- Proven ability to simplify complex systems and implement efficient architectures.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance and best practices in a corporate setting.
- Experience leading IAM strategy in organizations preparing for significant regulatory milestones.
