About the Role
We are seeking a talented individual to enhance our IT Engineering team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment that encourages continuous learning and growth. The focus of this role is on identity and access management, particularly with a strong emphasis on self-service capabilities.
As a Senior Identity and Access Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing our corporate workforce identity, managing our identity provider system (Okta), and implementing access management solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our identity and access management strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring our systems are scalable to accommodate our rapid expansion. Additionally, you will assist in the administration of other essential SaaS systems for communication and productivity, participating in various engineering initiatives to support our corporate infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, design, and maintain our identity and access management systems, including IDP, SSO, MFA, and PAM.
- Support the implementation of corporate workforce identities across various IT systems and applications.
- Document standards, guidelines, and operating procedures for both administrators and end-users.
- Collaborate with system engineers, business owners, and security teams to ensure technical solutions align with business and compliance requirements.
- Manage core SaaS communication and productivity applications.
- Act as a mentor and trainer for the IT team, addressing escalated issues as needed.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and address any identified gaps.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective IAM solutions.
- Lead initiatives to optimize existing systems for enhanced performance and user experience.
- Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Design solutions for complex, multi-cloud environments, ensuring they meet evolving business needs.
- Balance security measures with user experience, considering both technical and human factors.
- Serve as a liaison between IT, Information Security, and executive leadership, translating technical concepts into business value.
- Stay updated on IAM trends and technologies, evaluating new solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
- Architect IAM controls that comply with SOC2, SOX, and ISO standards, contributing to our risk management strategy.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of advanced IAM experience, with a minimum of 5 years in administering IAM using Okta.
- In-depth knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies (SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, MFA, PAM).
- Strong understanding of user/identity lifecycle management and automated onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while effectively handling operational escalations.
- Security-focused mindset with experience in developing auditable system controls and processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to simplify complex systems and implement efficient architectures.
- Strong expertise in regulatory compliance best practices.
- Experience leading IAM strategy in organizations preparing for significant regulatory milestones.
