About the team/role
We are expanding our IT Engineering division and are in search of a dedicated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment that encourages continuous learning and development. This position requires a strong focus on identity and access management, with a particular emphasis on self-service capabilities.

In the Senior Identity and Access Engineer position, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing our corporate workforce identity, managing our identity provider system (Okta), and facilitating access management while integrating with various corporate and business SaaS applications. As the principal architect for our IAM strategy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our identity and access management framework, fostering innovation, and ensuring scalability to meet our rapid growth demands. You will also be involved in the administration of essential SaaS corporate systems related to communication and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, configure, and maintain our identity and access management systems and infrastructure, focusing on identity provider (IDP), single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Support the implementation of corporate workforce identities and authentication across existing and new IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Document standards, guidelines, technical configurations, and operational procedures for administrators and end-users.
  • Collaborate closely with system engineers, administrators, business stakeholders, and security teams to ensure technical solutions align with business and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of core SaaS communication and productivity systems.
  • Act as a mentor and trainer to the IT team, providing support for escalated issues and incidents.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance readiness and address any identified gaps.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into IAM solutions that enhance security and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to redesign or re-architect existing systems for improved performance and user experience.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure continuous compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Work within a complex, multi-cloud environment, requiring a deep understanding of modern architectures and the ability to design effective solutions for intricate challenges.
  • Anticipate future needs and design systems that can adapt to evolving regulatory and business requirements.
  • Balance robust security measures with seamless user experiences, necessitating a nuanced understanding of both technical capabilities and human factors.
  • Serve as a key liaison between IT, Information Security, Business Systems, and executive leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Stay abreast of IAM trends and technologies, continuously evaluating and implementing new solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Design and implement IAM controls that meet and exceed regulatory standards, playing a vital role in the organization's risk management strategy.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of advanced IAM experience, including implementation, configuration, and coding, with at least 5 years focused on administering IAM using Okta.
  • Extensive knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies (SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, MFA, PAM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of user/identity lifecycle management and the challenges associated with automated onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously while effectively addressing operational escalations.
  • Security-focused mindset with experience in developing auditable system controls and processes.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex systems and implement efficient architectures.
  • Strong expertise in regulatory compliance and best practices within a corporate environment.
  • Experience leading IAM strategy in organizations preparing for significant regulatory milestones.
