About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Mattress Firm. As an Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the distribution center, ensuring alignment with strategic vision and communicating organizational mission and values to the team.
  • Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget.
  • Create and foster an environment of trust, open two-way communication, and cohesive team effort.
  • Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the distribution center.
  • Facilitate resolution of customer service issues.
  • Verify driver payroll for accuracy.
  • Conduct required physical cycle counts; review discrepancies and make appropriate corrections.
  • Ensure use of proper safety equipment and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that all safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressively discipline, and terminations when appropriate per Company policy.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly distribution center-wide meetings to communicate organization/DC wins and opportunities and speak to any questions or concerns.
  • Assist Loss Prevention with loss prevention audit and safety audits.
  • May be responsible for safety and other training and periodic retraining to all team members and contract employees in the distribution center.
  • May monitor employee time records and review/approve paid time off and leave of absence requests in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • May participate in interviewing and the hiring process for potential distribution center team members.
  • May manage the distribution center in the absence of the DC leader.
  • May be involved in assisting coaching conversations and administering disciplinary actions.
  • May lead or participate in daily stand-up meetings at the beginning of each shift or team meeting.
  • May take an active role in onboarding and training new distribution center team members.
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.

Compensation

Up to $60,000 annually
