Position Overview:

This role focuses on the post-award management of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance and accuracy from the initiation to the conclusion of projects. Key responsibilities include:
Entering data into the financial management system for award setup Analyzing financial data to verify compliance with sponsor guidelines Assisting Principal Investigators and Administrators with administrative tasks Reviewing financial reports and data for accuracy Preparing financial statements for sponsors Reconciling general and operational ledgers Monitoring the status of monthly receivables and preparing invoices for sponsoring agencies This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with various university departments while delivering high-quality customer service. Your expertise will significantly influence the research funding landscape within the Commonwealth.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; or equivalent experience Positive and adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn Knowledge of federal, state, and sponsor regulations related to grants Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks effectively Proven track record of excellent performance and attendance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management systems Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a university-sponsored program or grant accounting Familiarity with financial systems such as SunGard Banner is advantageous
