Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Primary Care
Location: Specialist Office
Qualifications Required:
- Valid State of Virginia Nursing License
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- Experience in Primary Care Settings
- Proficient in Phlebotomy and Triage
- Ability to Monitor Vital Signs
- IV Administration Skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with both clinical and administrative tasks.
- Deliver comprehensive physical care and execute medical protocols.
- Gather patient histories and relevant medical data.
- Evaluate and prioritize patient health issues to determine necessary actions.
- Monitor and document vital signs; collect necessary specimens.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Conduct procedures including IV placements, nebulizer treatments, and blood draws.
- Support medical and minor surgical interventions.
- Prepare patients for ongoing care post-treatment.
- Manage wound care and dressing.
- Educate patients on upcoming procedures and self-medication techniques.
- Coordinate and track patient appointments efficiently.
- Maintain examination rooms; ensure medical equipment and supplies are ready for use.
- Document patient progress following consultations.
- Facilitate referrals and manage prescription authorizations as required.
- Handle electronic and faxed prescription refill requests.
- Ensure accurate scanning of documents into patient records.
- Maintain inventory of examination room supplies and replenish as necessary.
- Adhere to clinical standards and promote a safe, clean working environment.
