Position Overview: The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Post Award Administration Team Supervisor within our Finance Division. This position is crucial for overseeing the comprehensive management of post-award grant and contract operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for the financial stewardship and administrative oversight of awarded grants and contracts, ensuring adherence to funding agency regulations, and fostering effective communication between internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the post-award administration process for grants and contracts, focusing on budget oversight, financial reporting, and compliance management.
  • Supervise and mentor the post-award team, ensuring clarity and compliance with award terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and project teams to evaluate budgets and financial strategies.
  • Monitor project spending and generate regular financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate timely invoicing and collection of funds from various sources.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including finance and accounting, to maintain alignment with organizational policies.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external partners, funding agencies, and auditors regarding post-award inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to PIs and project teams on financial and administrative aspects of grant and contract management.
  • Identify and resolve any issues related to post-award administration promptly.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in grant and contract management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in post-award grant and contract management, ideally within a research or academic setting.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a team of research administrators.
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations and compliance standards related to grant management.
  • Exceptional financial management capabilities, including budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with grant management software.
  • Experience with financial software for reporting purposes.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis and financial forecasting.
  • Previous management experience in a similar role.
