Position Overview:

The Patient Account Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing billing processes, ensuring follow-up, and addressing any challenges that may hinder the timely payment of patient accounts in accordance with Intermountain Healthcare's established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Utilizes available resources to ensure the prompt and accurate submission of bills, while diligently following up on patient accounts to facilitate timely payment collection.

  2. Employs suitable follow-up techniques and engages with various payer types to guarantee efficient billing and resolution of claims.

  3. Conducts thorough account analysis to assess claim acceptance, rejections, or denials, ensuring that all payments are accurately processed and that account demographics, including payer information, are current and precise.

  4. Adheres to all Intermountain Healthcare requirements regarding procedural, operational, and compliance training, ensuring updates are consistently met.

  5. Maintains expected productivity and quality benchmarks by accurately and timely processing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

  6. Implements necessary corrections to accounts throughout the collection cycle.

  7. Communicates effectively and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders.

Provides courteous and professional service to all patients, affiliates, providers, administrators, employees, colleagues, insurance representatives, vendor representatives, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience in customer service.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a professional office environment.
  • Background in billing or collections.
Physical Requirements:
Engagement with others necessitating effective communication.- and
  • Ability to operate computers and other office equipment, requiring dexterity in fingers and hands.

  • Capability to see and read computer screens and documents.

  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while performing tasks on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
