Job Overview:

The Senior Benefits & HR Specialist plays a crucial role within the Analytics, Benefits & Compensation Team in Human Resources, contributing to the effective management of the Company's benefit offerings. This position is integral in supporting the Human Resources department through the utilization of the Workday platform, overseeing project management, and assisting with various special initiatives. The specialist is tasked with the analysis, administration, and reporting of the Company's benefits and ancillary employee programs, ensuring that all offerings are competitive and deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Benefits Management ~50%

  • Oversee the administration of the Company's health and welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Facilitate benefits communications and events to enhance employee engagement with available programs.
  • Conduct analyses of Company plans to ensure market competitiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations such as ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, etc., while assessing the impact of legislative changes on benefits.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits policies and programs, resolving issues and mediating with providers as necessary.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Assist in the benefits renewal process by liaising with benefit consultants and insurance providers.
  • Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, including communication strategies, employee meetings, and ensuring accurate enrollment data is communicated to insurance providers.
  • Maintain the Workday benefits structure, including plan configurations and employee eligibility.

Workday Administration ~20%

  • Collaborate with the Manager of HR Systems & Analytics on updates and projects related to Workday configuration, including development, testing, and implementation.
  • Support daily maintenance and ensure data quality within the system.
  • Provide reporting and analytical support to various Human Resources functions.

Project Management ~15%

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans for departmental initiatives, such as the Employee Engagement Survey and Workday Enhancements.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about project progress and timelines.
  • Follow up as necessary to confirm adherence to project timelines.

Special Projects ~15%

  • Complete various assigned projects to support the department, which may involve data compilation from Workday, conducting research, designing processes, and creating documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits program analysis and administration.
  • Proficient knowledge of various human resource disciplines, including compensation, recruitment, employee relations, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that emphasizes results and collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees and management.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
