Position Overview:
The Lead Financial Analyst will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
We are in search of a proactive and skilled Lead Financial Analyst to become a vital member of our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring the precision and reliability of our financial documentation.
The Lead Financial Analyst will significantly contribute to the organization's success by guaranteeing adherence to US GAAP, TriMark policies, and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable sub-ledgers, including the retrieval of source documents, validation, and reconciliation with transactions recorded in the accounting system.
Journal Entries and Reconciliations:
- Prepare and document monthly journal entries.
- Maintain specific balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Analyze financial statements, identifying and clarifying variances.
- Monitor and report on key metrics to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
Tax Compliance:
- Oversee all aspects of sales and use tax, including the preparation and submission of returns and remittance of sales tax.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting utilizing Excel and other analytical tools.
- Ensure accurate accounting of vendor rebate income and other corporate-level accounts in collaboration with Corporate Accounting.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively across functions and with counterparts at other TriMark divisions to achieve objectives.
- Engage regularly with management, auditors, support staff, and external stakeholders.
Required Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
- Strong mathematical skills with the capability to reconcile accounts.
- Ability to follow directions, learn swiftly, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Independent thinker with proven sound judgment.
- Analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity to comprehend business drivers, conduct root cause analysis, and identify potential errors, risks, and areas for continuous improvement.
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, or equivalent military or practical experience.
- Preferred experience in Construction/Design Build accounting.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, VLookup).
- Experience with various ERP platforms.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post-offer acceptance.
