Central Checkout Operations Leader

Job Overview:
This position is essential for overseeing the effective functioning of the Central Checkout department.

The individual in this role is tasked with fostering a collaborative atmosphere within Central Checkout, ensuring that team members are trained and developed to provide consistently exceptional Customer Service.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exemplify Superior Customer Service.
  • Address and respond to Customer concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Assist in upholding company sanitation standards.
  • Monitor and manage potential inventory loss.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures within the service department.
  • Uphold and model company dress code standards.
  • Perform all duties of a Checkout Associate and Customer Service Assistant, and assist with Business Center transactions as required.
  • Oversee frontend operations to enhance Customer flow by directing traffic effectively.
  • Review and authorize financial transactions at the cash register and Business Center (e.g., overrides, refunds, EBT, etc.).
  • Maintain open communication with store personnel and management regarding daily operations and concerns.
  • Address and respond to team members' concerns with professionalism.
  • Promote and support frontend sales initiatives.
  • Recognize and celebrate team achievements.
  • Convey a sense of urgency in addressing Partner and Customer issues.
  • Supervise product ordering to ensure optimal stock levels and inventory management.


Qualifications:


  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Completion of Regional Service training is required and must be approved by the Regional Merchant.
  • Advanced knowledge of checkout procedures.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • High performance standards are expected.
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Strong conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
  • Basic understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to make logical decisions.
  • Skills in delegation, organization, and planning.
  • Capability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with H-E-B systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain operational efficiency, troubleshoot, and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Adherence to sanitation standards in the work area.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  • Ability to stand for a maximum of 3 hours.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying moderately heavy items.
  • Ability to bend, reach, squat, push, and pull as needed.
