Responsibilities:
The Business Central Accounting Associate plays a vital role in the management of financial data, focusing on the general ledger with an emphasis on accounts payable, expense reporting, credit card reconciliation, and cash management support.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing all aspects of accounts payable (A/P), which involves routing invoices for approval, reviewing documentation (such as vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and company credit card statements), processing ACH payments and outgoing checks, ensuring accurate recording of all A/P transactions to the appropriate GL accounts, maintaining historical records, and serving as the primary contact for A/P inquiries.
  • Preparing and recording journal entries for month-end closing, reconciling specified general ledger accounts, and submitting corrected journal entries to the Senior Accountant for posting.
  • Uploading journal entries into Business Central.
  • Submitting all billable credit card expenses to the billing team for processing.
  • Providing weekly Accounts Payable Aging reports for two entities to the Senior Accountant for payment journal processing.
  • Maintaining an organized accounting manual and electronic filing system.
  • Participating in annual audits.
  • Managing new vendor setups and updates in Business Central, ensuring proper documentation and W-9 submission to the Senior Accountant.
  • Ensuring compliance with all accounting policies and procedures.


Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • Prior experience with Business Central Software is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 1 – 5 years of relevant accounting experience in medium to large-sized businesses.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in email and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Effective time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
