Patient Access Representative I

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative I to join our team at Truman Medical Centers. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive excellent customer service and that their registration and billing information is accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Perform outpatient and inpatient registration functions, including verifying patient information and ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and hospital staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
- Competency Development: Successfully pass a Patient Access Representative II competency exam within one year of hire date.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Experience working in a customer service role or successful completion of the UH Patient Access Rep/Patient Scheduler Apprentice Program.
- Skills: Communication skills required to interview patients and families, to gather and exchange information with other hospital staff members, physicians, third party payors and resource persons. Concise written communication skills and keyboarding skills required.
- Experience: Two years' experience with patient contact.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
