About the Role

BorgWarner is seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Proto operations group to develop and document manufacturing processes for power electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of manufacturing processes for power electronics Proto builds.
  • Design and implement fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies.
  • Conduct process studies to prove process capabilities on key product attributes such as adhesive dispense and screwdriving.
  • Support machine qualification for series manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and implement leak test programs and conduct measurement system evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the product design team to address design for manufacturability issues.
  • Assist in the development of new process technologies, including automation of assembly steps.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree (ME, MET, EE, Physics) - Sophomore or Junior.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
  • Knowledge and experience with equipment operations - electronics assembly and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Solidworks, NX, or similar CAD tools.
  • Experience with rapid prototype processing and 3D printing tools.
