Natron Energy is seeking an EHS Director to lead and build the company's EHS programs. The ideal candidate will have significant prior experience as an EHS manager or engineer in establishing and maintaining EHS and workplace safety programs for an organization that operated electronics and/or chemistry labs.

The EHS Director will lead the company's Safety Committee to build a safety-focused culture, maintain a safe workplace, maintain and establish EHS compliance, and lead and support risk assessments. They will collaborate with senior leadership on EHS initiatives including facilities, equipment, employee training and compliance, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of local and national codes and standards for OHS and other workplace safety requirements, as well as prior experience acting as their employer's primary representative to local AHJs and EHS-related contractors for employee training, hazardous waste disposal, etc.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop, and maintain EHS initiatives and programs including those related to site permitting, chemical inventory and handling, equipment installation and operation, and employee training.
  • Lead the company's Safety Committee in development and implementation of those programs.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership on EHS programs including training, audits, and compliance.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and oversee EHS policies that are functionally successful in achieving a safe workplace while also adhering to OHS guidelines.
  • Proactively and systematically assess EHS risks and develop and implement cost-efficient solutions.
  • Relatedly, proactively assess and address business risks related to EHS, including proof of environmental compliance, workers compensation, property, and facilities.
  • Maintain active safety training certifications of relevance to the company's operations; schedule and coordinate employee safety training programs.
  • Coordinate with local AHJs during permitting, inspections, and audits.
  • Coordinate with contractors for training, inspections, and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain EHS related databases including training records and SDS database.
