Environmental Health and Safety Manager Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for integrating environmental health and safety services into our business practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements on assigned projects. This role will oversee responsibilities related to environmental health and safety services and interact with EH&S staff, superintendents, project managers, and area/ regional EHS directors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience as head of safety for at least one transit, commuter rail, or design-build project.
  • NYC Track Safety training.
  • At least 90 days of experience working on Right of Way with flagging and diversions of service.
  • NYC Department of Building 40-hour Site Safety Managers course (License is not required).
  • Successful completion of 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health course.
  • Possession and maintenance of a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License.
  • Possession and maintenance of a current C-3 / C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
  • Active membership in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
  • Familiarity with all aspects of heavy civil construction.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Bachelor's Degree – Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
