About the Role

The Director, Origination and Development is a key member of the Commercial organization at Phillips 66, responsible for driving business growth and development in the renewable fuels and feedstocks space. This role requires a deep understanding of the complete renewables business value chain, including agriculture, feedstock production, feedstock markets and logistics, production, transportation, storage, and end-user markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Business Strategies
    • Develop new customer contracts and relationships portfolio to drive business growth and revenue.
    • Work internally and externally to expand renewables infrastructure and supply chains, identifying new opportunities to grow the renewables business and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities.
  • Manage Feedstock Sourcing and Logistics
    • Execute purchase, sale, and transportation/freight-forwarding contracts regarding bio-based renewable feedstocks, including used cooking oil, soybean oil, and tallow.
  • Drive Business Development and Growth
    • Develop a market plan that defines a profitable business model for new types/sources of renewable feedstocks in line with Global Renewable group's overall trading strategy.
    • Perform economic and strategic evaluations for new business opportunities, working with third-party consultants and brokers to understand and evaluate their views on renewables markets and factor those into business development strategies.
  • Ensure Sustainability and Compliance
    • Ensure sustainability compliance of counterparties and new deals, aligning with Phillips 66's commitment to environmental responsibility and social responsibility.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, economics, or environmental science.
    • 5 or more years of experience in commercial activities, including scheduling, contract writing, negotiations, trading, business development, or project management.
    • 2 or more years of experience in renewable fuels and/or feedstocks, with a strong understanding of the renewables business value chain.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business opportunities and develop effective strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
