Job Summary

The Grant Management Specialist will provide direct accounting support to a portfolio of grants, as assigned by the Dean's Office. The Specialist will have in-depth involvement on these projects, but will also provide broad accounting support to all CHHS grants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly manage the financial aspect of a portfolio of grants and provide oversight, review of, and support to staff for grant disbursements to ensure conformity with all appropriate regulations, rules, and policies.
  • Meet with Principal Investigators to gain a thorough understanding of program goals and budget, and support project personnel during proposal development and after award to ensure their understanding and delivery of proper grant management.
  • Reconcile and prepare required financial reports for grants, and develop and maintain positive relations and communications with funding agencies, colleagues, and other internal constituents.
  • Help build, bolster, and monitor policies, practices, and systems that support grant activities across the college, and identify areas for development that would create better supports for grant personnel.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of full-time professional experience in a job that included accounting and/or budget management work.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing the fiscal requirements of grants, and experience working with financial management CRM, preferably Workday.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, and demonstrated ability to develop required financial reports for grants.
Work Environment

This is a hybrid position designed to support flexibility with both in-office work, as well as some remote schedules subject to supervisor approval. Travel is not expected.
