Lead Grants Specialist

About the Role:
The American Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled Lead Grants Specialist to support the Colorado/Wyoming and Nevada/Utah Region. This is a hybrid work position which includes a mix of virtual and in-office work weekly in our Denver location.
The successful candidate will have strong persuasive writing and project management skills and be willing to take on new tasks. This position will be responsible for written communication to donors, including grant proposals, stewardship reports and informational updates, as well as donor cultivation event support and donor recognition activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, write, develop, and implement strategies to increase revenue through workplace giving campaigns and grant proposals.
- Enhance relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs.
- Participate in grant/funding development through grant research, selection, and proposal writing processes.
- Maintain grant proposals and reporting calendar.
- Personally responsible for researching and writing grant proposals and reports.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable.
- Ability to work on a team.
Travel:
May include occasional travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.
A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
Proposal or writing samples will be asked during the interview process.
Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The work environment will consist of moderate noise (business office with computers, phones and printers, traffic light).
The employee must have the ability and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
