Grants Specialist III Position

As a Grants Specialist with the State of Colorado, you will play a critical role in securing federal funding for transportation projects and developing policies to support these initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in grant management, grant writing, and policy analysis, with a strong understanding of transportation planning and policy.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with regions and divisions to submit federal grants on behalf of the department.
- Proactively identify potential projects and develop strategies for securing federal funding.
- Write and edit grant documents using In-Design or similar graphic tools.
- Assist in the development and updating of policy and procedural directives (PDs).
- Work with subject matter experts and other department staff to develop and format PDs.
- Back up the Transportation Commission Liaison and serve as a liaison to the Transportation Commission.
- Support the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff as needed.
The Grants Specialist will work primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel within the state.
They will also work in a politically sensitive environment, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
