Job Overview

Adams Burke & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in the metal casting and metalworking industry nationwide. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating activities, with minimal supervision, and performing duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance employees in their daily tasks, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and facility repairs.
  • Maintain and enforce safety programs for the maintenance department, reviewing safety records to uphold company policies and ensure a safe environment for all employees.
  • Develop and maintain a team environment, encouraging collaboration and open communication among maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to comply with all environmental requirements, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to help team members grow and develop in their roles.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Preventative Maintenance and Part Inventory program, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available to support maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate equipment and determine what repairs are needed to improve machine uptime, working with vendors and contractors as necessary to source parts and services.
  • Track, monitor, and audit maintenance Key Performance Indicators, providing regular reports to management on maintenance performance and areas for improvement.
  • Filing purchase orders for procurement of spare and replacement parts, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Recruiting maintenance staff and evaluating their performance, working with management to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in a sand iron foundry, with a strong background in maintenance and repair.
  • A high school diploma is required, with some college and/or additional training/certificates preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment blueprints, with a strong understanding of design and layout.
  • Understanding of lean principles, including Poke Yoke, Kaizen, and root cause analysis, with the ability to apply these principles in a maintenance setting.
