We are currently seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer with a focus on solid waste management to spearhead significant projects. If you are a results-oriented professional eager to make a meaningful impact and excel in a team-oriented environment, we encourage you to explore this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Act as the primary technical authority for solid waste initiatives, offering specialized knowledge in waste facility design and planning.
  • Project Management: Oversee the creation and quality assurance of plans and specifications, serving as the engineer of record for various waste facility construction projects.
  • Hands-On Support: Provide direct technical assistance for solid waste projects, including problem identification and resolution, team leadership, and ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Effective Communication: Facilitate communication to guarantee timely and high-quality project completion. Serve as the main point of contact for clients on solid waste projects, engage in proposal development and presentations, attend client meetings, and advocate for client interests in public forums.
  • Client Relations: Proactively assess client requirements and initiate actions to fulfill those needs. Exhibit strong communication skills with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, focusing on technical matters.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of federal and state regulations pertaining to waste facilities, fostering positive relationships with regulatory bodies regarding permitting and compliance.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior engineers in developing their technical capabilities and support their professional advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to solid waste projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the engineering consulting sector.
  • 3+ years of project management or coordination experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with sustainability initiatives such as Extended Producer Responsibility, Sustainable Materials Management, Circular Economies, Waste Diversion, and Zero Waste.
