Position Overview: We are seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer specializing in solid waste management. This role is ideal for a results-oriented individual eager to lead transformative projects and contribute to sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Act as the primary technical authority for solid waste initiatives, offering specialized knowledge in waste facility design and planning.
- Project Management: Oversee the development and quality assurance of project plans and specifications, serving as the engineer of record for various waste facility construction projects.
- Hands-On Support: Provide direct engineering assistance for solid waste projects, including problem identification, team leadership, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Client Communication: Facilitate effective communication to guarantee timely project completion with high standards. Serve as the main point of contact for clients, engaging in proposals, presentations, and public meetings.
- Client Relations: Identify and address client needs proactively, demonstrating strong communication skills with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of federal and state regulations regarding waste facilities, fostering positive relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers in developing their technical competencies and advancing their careers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on solid waste projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the engineering consulting sector.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives such as Extended Producer Responsibility, Sustainable Materials Management, and Zero Waste practices.
