Position Summary

REMOTE POSITION

This role encompasses a wide array of substantive responsibilities, including the preparation of drafts for legal documents and correspondence for review; compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information; coordinating efforts among legal counsel, internal team members, external legal advisors, and other relevant parties; and providing paralegal support for the development, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts and associated documentation. Additionally, this position is accountable for reporting dashboard metrics and ensuring compliance with service level agreements regarding review turnaround times, while also holding others accountable for their reviews and responses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft or modify contracts, reports, correspondence, and other legal documents for managerial or legal approval.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate contracting regulations and provisions.
  • Generate various business unit reports and analyses concerning contracts and special clauses for multiple departments, including corporate legal, tax, finance, and HR.
  • Assist in various transactions and special projects as needed.
  • Support business personnel in negotiating contract terms with clients, including reviewing and analyzing agreements, suggesting language, and aiding in client presentations.
  • Facilitate the development and enhancement of a contract lifecycle management system to monitor contracts and follow up as necessary.
  • Provide training on contracts for relevant business personnel.
  • Conduct legal research as assigned, analyzing statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and codes to determine legal arguments for contract clauses and enforceability.
  • Manage daily workflow and operations of commercial contracting, including contract maintenance, redline/change reviews, and ensuring the accuracy of contract entries.
  • Perform essential administrative tasks, such as maintaining document management systems, obtaining signatures, proofreading, word processing, and generating reports.
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a corporate paralegal.
  • Preferred certification as a paralegal or NCMA.
  • Proficient in legal research techniques.
  • Strong understanding of administrative practices and concepts.
  • Familiarity with automation applications and database management.
  • Skilled in written business communication and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Creative problem solver with a capacity for innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to multitask, adapt, and effectively complete projects.
  • Experience with SalesForce is preferred.
