The Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking a dedicated medical professional to join our team as a Senior Resident Physician PGY 4. This role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services across our network of facilities.
Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Resident Physician is to deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, facilitating their recovery from acute conditions and managing chronic illnesses effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients by gathering detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and reviewing existing medical records.
- Order and interpret necessary laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient conditions.
- Develop and implement appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic treatment plans based on integrated clinical data.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
- Document all relevant patient information, including symptoms, findings, assessments, and treatment plans, in the medical record.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, and preventive measures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans by reviewing diagnostic results and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to physician assistants, nursing staff, and interns regarding patient care practices.
- Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the financial sustainability of the practice and contribute to achieving organizational financial objectives.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall mission of the organization.
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements associated with the position.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Minimum of three years in a relevant medical field. Previous experience as a staff physician is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM)
Essential Credentials:
- Medical Doctor (MD)
- Substance Control Registration
Education Requirements:
- Doctorate in Medicine (Professional)
Working Conditions:
- Requires manual dexterity and coordination.
- May involve exposure to occupational hazards.
- Physical effort may include lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Potential exposure to various environmental factors.
