Job Summary

Nidec is a leading global manufacturer of electric motors and drives that power mission-critical operations. We engineer and service robust motors and generators that guarantee exceptional power generation performance in extreme environments.

As a key member of our team, you will lead the human resources initiatives and talent strategy, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business unit financial plans. You will develop and drive HR goals, targets, and KPIs, overseeing and coordinating human resources management functions, including talent acquisition, retention, and management, employee communication, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and employee-related policy development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract, hire, and retain top talent, developing talent acquisition strategies and overseeing candidate sourcing and selection processes.
  • Oversee employee and labor relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling, promoting a constructive work environment and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and/or shepherd performance management processes within the business unit to drive employee engagement, development, and accountability.
  • Lead compensation and benefits programs within the business unit, including salary administration, incentive plans, and employee benefits, ensuring competitive and equitable compensation practices that support employee retention and motivation.
  • Develop and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance, promoting employee development and identifying organizational and employee knowledge and informational deficiencies.
  • Develop, update, and/or communicate employment-related business policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to foster employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion, and an engaging workplace culture, developing and implementing recognition programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Establish key HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives, analyzing data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement in HR practices.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in human resources leadership roles, preferably in industrial manufacturing.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR and Labor principles, practices, and employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior business unit leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in HR software applications, preferably WorkDay.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all HR and Labor matters.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
