Position Overview:

Oversee, analyze, and assess information pertaining to Mechanical and Electrical systems essential for the timely and safe execution of the project, adhering to budget constraints and quality specifications outlined in the contract documents.


Key Responsibilities:
Direct the Turner project team, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure optimal coordination and efficient installation of systems.

Develop and manage a comprehensive list of contract items for all components, materials, and systems to ensure compliance with project timelines and approval statuses.

Engage in schedule update meetings, providing the latest data for accurate scheduling.
Assess and manage the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs).

Oversee the budget, including the review, assessment, and negotiation of all change orders while maintaining an understanding of the financial status of subcontractors.

Guide, mentor, and supervise Assistant MEP Engineers.

Collaborate with the VDC Engineer to co-lead the MEP Coordination Process, ensuring that installations comply with design requirements, operational fundamentals, and quality standards.

Draft scope of work documents detailing responsibilities for trades and specific scopes for temporary operations.

Work alongside the MEP Superintendent to address conflicts between mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring alignment with site logistics and project schedules.

Co-lead the overall turnover process with the MEP Superintendent, including start-up, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.

Conduct regular site inspections with the MEP team to verify that work aligns with contract documents, coordination drawings, and approved submissions.

Identify and communicate complex installation requirements to field staff in a timely manner to facilitate proper planning and execution.
Manage and secure all necessary municipal and agency documentation for temporary certificates of information and system operation.
Develop and implement a quality control plan in collaboration with the MEP Superintendent.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience related to mechanical and electrical systems.

Demonstrated technical expertise and understanding of all mechanical and electrical systems that support a diverse range of project types and their interrelations.

Strong business acumen to effectively plan, manage, and execute essential duties, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational capabilities, and proficiency in computer applications.

Exhibit leadership qualities that foster the development of a high-performing team.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, employees regularly work on-site at construction locations, where they may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and electrical hazards.

The noise level in these environments typically ranges from moderate to very loud.
