Position Summary:
You will take on the role of Lead Software Architect for the Battlespace Simulation Environment (BSE) team. This team is tasked with the comprehensive design and architecture of the BSE System.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Software Architect, you will oversee the software architecture for intricate dynamic emitters and system interactions tailored for operationally relevant scenarios. The Digital Twin simulation must be structured to accommodate a complex battlefield and swiftly evolving test conditions.

The simulation will facilitate early testing of aircraft software in a virtual environment while ensuring it meets the fidelity requirements for pilot training.

Your specific duties will include:
  • Providing architectural vision for a sophisticated battlespace environment simulation, including aircraft weapon, sensor, environment, and threat models.
  • Developing software architecture that aligns with capability requirements.
  • Creating and tracking design tasks, offering guidance, and reviewing delegated design work to ensure the simulation's integrity and compliance with program requirements.
  • Formulating use cases and best practices for simulation design.
  • Producing design documentation and plans for presentation to various stakeholders.

Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for this position, you must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD SECRET clearance. Additionally, you must successfully pass a drug and background check to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Experience in Software Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with integrated design tools (Cameo, Rational Rose, Rhapsody, or SYSML).
  • Background in Simulation Software Development.
  • Familiarity with battlespace environment models and simulations.
  • Knowledge of F-35 and/or F-22 aircraft weapon systems.
  • Experience in team leadership and working with intelligence agencies.

Work Environment:
This position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. We support various flexible work schedules that enhance work-life balance.
