The Senior Crypto Systems Architect will be responsible for defining, decomposing, allocating, assessing, and implementing Crypto requirements into a comprehensive system architecture, ensuring a cyber-resilient security design solution for various platforms (Air Systems or Weapon Systems).

This includes active participation in working groups, design reviews, and formal artifact evaluations alongside other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), providing crypto expertise to integrate cybersecurity considerations early in the product development lifecycle.

This role requires providing technical leadership in the development of hardware products, including Type 1, NCDSMO, and CSfC solutions.

Proficiency in architecting security protocols and standards relevant to embedded systems (e.g., secure boot, encryption, authentication, secure communication) is essential.

Collaborate with both software and hardware design engineers to implement requirements that meet certification standards.

Your contributions will align with the technical execution of various Model-Based System Engineering initiatives.

Additionally, you will provide expertise in technical baselines and design reviews, showcasing your proficiency in developing robust security architecture and protocols.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences, and will thrive in a collaborative engineering environment. This includes establishing mission goals, planning tasks, and prioritizing objectives to drive efficient execution.

This position requires special access and a secret clearance updated within the last five years.

Basic Qualifications:

- B.S. degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or Information Technology, or equivalent applied experience.

- Experience in Systems Engineering.

- Familiarity with System and/or Security Architecture.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253, and NIST SP Risk Management Framework (RMF) for designing and securing information systems.

- Strong knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for complex system design and development.

- Experience in Certification and development efforts.

- Proficiency in executing Systems Engineering processes, including requirements management, decomposition, system modeling, integration, and testing.

- Familiarity with digital encryption schemes; HAIPE experience is a plus.

- Skills in analyzing, decomposing, and allocating system architectures, requirements, and models.

- Proven ability to ensure Crypto requirements are accurately defined, allocated, assessed, and integrated into system architecture for cyber-resilient security design.

- Prior software engineering experience for embedded platforms.

- Knowledge of engineering change and configuration control processes.

- IASAE Level II - IAW 8570 or higher certification (CASP+ CE, CISSP, CSSLP).

- Experience with Agile project management tools (JIRA, VersionOne, etc.).

- Proficiency in developing security architecture representations (e.g., Accreditation Boundaries, Physical Diagrams, Logical Diagrams, Functional Diagrams, and Rack Layouts), system design modeling (UML, SysML, Rhapsody, Cameo, MagicDraw), and requirements management.

- Experience in vulnerability analysis, using automated assessment tools, and identifying risks and mitigations.

- Background in developing and sustaining real-time embedded systems (e.g., avionics systems).

- Familiarity with Real-Time Embedded Operating Systems (e.g., GreenHills INTEGRITY, LynxOS, VxWorks, Yocto).

- Knowledge of information systems/environments utilizing the Open Mission Systems (OMS) standard and Universal Command and Control Standards Initiative (UCI) message set.

- Experience conducting technical trade studies, experiments, and assessments.

- Expertise in compliance testing and penetration testing methodologies.

- Experience in developing certification test procedures (CTPs) and executing customer-witnessed security assessments using NIST 800-53A methods.

- Knowledge of Anti-tamper and crypto/key management.

- Experience in research and development environments for large-scale products.

Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with strong analytical and organizational abilities. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, along with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
