Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective conflict clearance procedures to ensure compliance with ethical rules and firm policies.
  • Provide analysis and critical assessment of due diligence to identify, report, and address potential ethical and business conflicts of interest.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and team members to gather information and work to resolve conflicts of interest or other business issues.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing conflict waivers, engagement letters, outside counsel agreements, and other documents to ensure compliance with ethical rules and firm policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and tracking systems to ensure effective information sharing, proactive follow-up, and timely documentation of conflict clearance process in firm databases.
  • Collaborate with team members and other personnel to ensure quality due diligence screening is completed in a responsive, client-service manner.
  • Assist firm personnel in understanding the firm's conflicts and new business intake policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of legal experience, preferably within a law firm.
  • Must be an active member in good standing in a state bar.
  • Juris Doctor Degree required.
  • Exceptional analytical, decisive, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate concise, timely, accurate, and logical conclusions and recommendations based on analyzing data with varied content and format.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and provide a quality and accurate work product with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in an atmosphere with multiple projects, shifting priorities, and extremely tight deadline pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to converse authoritatively with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong research, computer, and database skills.
  • Proven aptitude to quickly learn new applications.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and interact collegially.
