About the Opportunity
Brown University is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Analyst II to join its Office of Research Integrity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the University's export control and research security program, as well as supporting the Conflict of Interest and Research Security programs.
The Compliance Analyst II will conduct assessments of international activities related to research, teaching, travel, and shipping, and advise faculty, students, and administrators on appropriate policies and procedures. They will also prepare and apply for export control licenses, devise and implement control plans, and conduct quality assurance monitoring to ensure related compliance.
In addition, the Compliance Analyst II will support the University's Conflict of Interest (COI) program, assisting with annual and ad hoc faculty COI reporting and disclosure, and independently reviewing cases involving potential conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of export control regulations, research security, and COI policies, and be able to apply this knowledge to complex scenarios. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to present to large and small audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of international activities related to research, teaching, travel, and shipping
- Advise faculty, students, and administrators on appropriate policies and procedures
- Prepare and apply for export control licenses
- Devise and implement control plans
- Conduct quality assurance monitoring to ensure related compliance
- Support the University's Conflict of Interest (COI) program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years related experience
- Direct experience in one or more research compliance areas, including export control, research security, COI, or research integrity compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in export control, research security, COI, or Research Integrity compliance
