Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily banquet operations effectively.
  • Collaborate with management to conduct daily inventory assessments.
  • Assist in training and mentoring banquet staff to ensure a unified and efficient team.
  • Support management in maintaining appropriate staffing levels for all banquet and event requirements.
  • Participate in weekly food and beverage discussions as needed.
  • Comply with all Washington State Health and LCB regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with clients, guests, and catering personnel to deliver exceptional events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all catering functions from inception to completion, ensuring top-notch quality in products and services.
  • Collaborate with management throughout the customer decision-making and relationship-building process.
  • Coordinate with Food and Beverage departments to arrange necessary banquet, kitchen, and service personnel.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of food, wine, and spirits.
  • Responsible for managing patron cut-offs.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional guest service and communication skills are essential.
  • One to three years of supervisory experience is required; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in the food and beverage sector or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
  • Must be customer-focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of multitasking and working independently.
  • Ability to navigate a challenging environment while handling sensitive issues, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating strong attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to cultivate professional, courteous, and effective working relationships across all organizational levels and with external business contacts.
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with experience in database systems. Capable of preparing reports, correspondence, charts, forms, and other necessary documentation.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move heavy items (such as 180-pound kegs).
  • Prior experience in cash handling is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
  • Must obtain and maintain a Class A gaming license from the Sillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Health Card (Food Worker Card).
  • Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) Class 12 Mixologist Permit.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The role involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Daily repetitive movements are required, along with occasional bending and crouching. While there are no adverse conditions, employees may be regularly exposed to tobacco smoke. This is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operational environment.
