Job Title: Stewarding Supervisor

Join the Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center team as a Stewarding Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness, organization, safety, and production in our kitchen areas and throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of 15-25 staff members and coordinate their work assignments to ensure timely completion and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including the main kitchen, Prestons, and banquet areas.
  • Monitor the completion of daily work assignments and ensure that all staff members are meeting their responsibilities.
  • Interact with the culinary, banquet, and other outlet managers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all equipment by notifying engineering of any needed repairs.
  • Maintain the organization of all food and beverage equipment and supplies in all areas of responsibility.
  • Assume the responsibility of training new staff members and periodically appraising their abilities through practical exercises.
  • Assure that all banquet functions are properly set with sufficient equipment and that all stewarding responsibilities are met and completed on time.
  • Responsible for maintaining the stewarding areas in compliance with all Local health departments, Steritech, and safety code regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining effective awareness programs for the department in regards to safety and breakage.
  • Assist in the completion of Quarterly inventories.
  • Constantly monitor daily activities such as dish machine monitoring, perpetual inventories, and chemical counts.
  • Ability to carry on the day-to-day floor operation in the absence of a Executive Steward and/or Assistant Executive Steward.
  • Attend daily BEO meetings when necessary and prepare BEO set-up sheets a day in advance.
  • Assist in the receipt of all Stewarding purchases.
  • Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Assure that all areas pertaining to breakdown are clear of all equipment and food items.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read/write in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Previous stewarding experience within a large volume hotel is highly preferred.
  • Able to work a fully flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to push/pull and/or lift 40+ lbs.
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
