Overview


The Lead Cybersecurity Architect – XDR/SIEM Solutions is responsible for providing strategic direction and technical expertise in the development, deployment, and maintenance of Cybersecurity and Risk Management systems at Fairview Health Services.

This pivotal role requires extensive knowledge in various Cybersecurity domains and involves collaboration with diverse technical and business teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead the design, customization, and configuration of Cybersecurity tools, ensuring seamless integration with applications through standard APIs while supporting both on-premises and cloud environments.

• Provide guidance in modernizing legacy IT systems and mentor other teams to enhance security measures and mitigate risks.


• Develop and refine policies, procedures, and standards for Cybersecurity teams, creating a roadmap for updating existing security technologies to align with evolving business requirements.


• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Security Architects to design frameworks that adhere to NIST Cybersecurity Framework standards.

• Oversee the design of SIEM systems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of log data.


• Implement and manage event and log collection processes, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and addressing security incidents effectively.

• Stay informed about current security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing strategies to reduce the attack surface.


• Enhance the SIEM system using threat intelligence sources and correlate event indicators with potential threats.


• Serve as the principal engineer for EDR solutions, focusing on system design, implementation, integration, and optimization of XDR/EDR technologies.

• Develop advanced features within EDR systems and integrate them with automation tools.


• Support executive leadership and management during challenging times, maintaining open communication.


• Analyze risks and prioritize vulnerability remediation efforts using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

• Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure effective security remediation and address any technology gaps.


• Lead initiatives related to Cybersecurity Engineering, automation, risk management, compliance, and threat management.

• Mentor team members and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing responsibilities.


• Represent Fairview in industry forums and technical briefings to stay abreast of advancements in Cybersecurity and Risk Management.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 15+ years of experience in the architecture, design, customization, and support of IT systems.

• 7+ years of experience with SIEM solutions, particularly in operational support and deployment of advanced EDR solutions.

• 3+ years of experience in integrating and automating SIEM/EDR tools.

• Strong understanding of systems, frameworks, methodologies, networks, firewalls, and computing environments.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python, with knowledge of REST APIs and workflow automation.

• Experience in developing web, mobile, and cloud-hosted applications with a focus on security frameworks.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels and adjust messaging for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.

• Previous experience in senior cybersecurity roles within healthcare organizations.

• Relevant technical certifications in security technologies, development methodologies, and cloud applications.

• Industry-recognized certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
