Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls Federal Systems. As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections of building systems and equipment, conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and responding to emergency maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in building systems and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
  • Provide support for building renovations and new construction projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial or industrial electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as required to perform site duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
  • Licensed Electrician.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certifications.
