Role Overview

  • Supervise Analysts tasked with safeguarding information systems and ensuring protection against unauthorized access or destruction.
  • Provide assistance for a program, organization, systems, or enclaves. Support the Agency Risk Management Framework (RMF) Workflow and Processes by proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information system security policies, guidelines, standards, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Data Custodian, Project Owner, and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to identify the types of information processed, assign appropriate security categorizations, assess information security and privacy impacts, and manage associated risks. Document controls in the information security and privacy plan to ensure compliance with CISO guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date system information in XACTA (e.g., Points of Contact, artifacts) to support organizational requirements and processes (e.g., communication, contingency planning, training, data calls).
  • Assess the impact of network and system modifications using RMF processes.
  • Ensure that anomalies identified through the Sponsor's Information Security Continuous Monitoring activities are addressed and remediated appropriately.
  • Provide recommendations to stakeholders regarding system configuration deviations from established baselines.
  • Develop and maintain a System Security Plan (SSP).
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to the SSP.
  • Ensure configuration management for security-relevant information system software, hardware, and firmware is maintained and documented.
  • Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored.
  • Ensure all information security-related documentation is current and accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Formally notify relevant individuals when changes occur that may impact authorization.
  • Participate in governance and project reviews as directed by the Sponsor.
  • Strong documentation capabilities are essential.
  • Experience with XACTA 360, Continuum, and other SCAP Compliant tools is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53/53A, and STIGs. Experienced in collaborating with IT and OT teams to integrate security best practices into OT Operations.
  • Oversee compliance with industry standards and regulations such as NIST SP.
  • Proficient in establishing necessary assumptions, constraints, risk tolerances, and risk management strategies to ensure consistent risk management decisions for the security and safety of OT systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field is required.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NCSF)
AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is also desirable.
