The College of Arts & Sciences is a diverse entity, managing over 40 unique academic departments, centers, and programs with an instructional budget surpassing $100 million.

We seek a proactive and self-motivated individual to join the accomplished A&S Finance Team, dedicated to delivering fiscal support to College units in alignment with their academic and research objectives.

This role offers avenues for professional advancement and skill enhancement.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication and analytical problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize daily responsibilities and projects.

This position entails conducting research, understanding, and articulating detailed analyses of departmental budgets and financial operations, assisting units with all fiscal services including transaction processing, budgeting, reconciliations, salary distributions, and aiding Principal Investigators in monitoring their restricted awards.

Opportunities may arise to provide training and support to fiscal staff within departmental units as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the annual budget formulation, categorization of reserves, projections, and other university-wide initiatives.

Perform reconciliations of all indices related to salary, operating, and plant fund expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance and management of restricted funds.

Facilitate the distribution of funds from the College to various departments.
Process financial transactions such as labor redistributions, journal vouchers, and the coordination and preparation of regular and special billings.
Handle reimbursements, purchasing requisitions, and other fiscal transactions.
May assist with special projects and/or reporting as necessary.
Collaborate with departments to build budgets, develop financial statements, and create analyses.

Minimum Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree with successful completion of at least 12 credit hours in university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; a minimum of 1 year of experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities.

Completed degrees from accredited institutions that exceed the minimum educational requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Banner Finance, Chrome River, LoboMart, MyReports systems, and ad-hoc reports, HR Reports, or other institutional systems.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Experience managing restricted funds (contracts and grants), including cost-sharing, and ensuring compliance with agency and federal regulations while supporting PIs in monitoring their restricted awards.

Familiarity with University Fiscal Policies/Procedures and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Experience collaborating with multiple units in budget development and/or specific projects.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Experience with account reconciliations.
