Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst at Tempur Sealy

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $76k-$109k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the preparation of regular product cost reports and operational documentation.
  • Monitors fund expenditures and compiles budgetary data for analysis.
  • Evaluates final product manufacturing costs and assesses unit pricing of finished goods.
  • Implements or refines methods for cost management and calculation. Collects cost data to assist in budget creation.
  • Actively promotes initiatives for cost improvements.
  • Conducts variance analysis comparing actual, prior, and standard costs.
  • Oversees, evaluates, and reports on inventory valuation, production costs, supply chain expenses, R&D spending, capital expenditures, and other financial metrics.
  • Tracks R&D budgets and actuals at the project level to support informed decision-making.
  • Develops budgets, forecasts, evaluates budget proposals, and creates necessary documentation and justifications.
  • Generates reports summarizing and forecasting business activities and financial status concerning income, expenses, and profits based on historical, current, and projected operations.
  • Supports business case validation in sourcing analysis, capital expenditure justification, and other decision-making processes.
  • Leads or assists with special projects as needed.
  • May require some travel (approximately 10%) during training and transition phases or as business needs arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and cost accounting.
  • Experience in process or discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Preferred experience in direct cost implementation and process improvement.
  • Proficient in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Access). Familiarity with MS Dynamics or Axapta ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with solid reporting and analytical skills, capable of performing business case analysis and cost/expense projections against actuals, and suggesting improvements to the planning process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to identify areas for improvement and implement effective changes.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for team problem-solving scenarios.
  • Self-motivated individual who can manage workload independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating urgency in achieving business objectives.
  • Approximately 10% travel during initial training periods, subject to change based on business needs.
